Pastor Sharolyn Browning

The Rev. Sharolyn Browning is the pastor serving with the Holy Cross community. She serves in a "three-quarter" part-time call with Holy Cross. She holds a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, a Graduate Certificate of the Spiritual Guidance of Children from General Theological Seminary, and spent a year of study at Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. 

Pastor Sharolyn grew up in Austin, and has lived in Fort Worth, Orlando and Chicago. Some of Pastor Sharolyn's favorite activities are gardening, art, sewing, camping, and spending time outdoors. Before she became a pastor, she worked in ministry with children and their families for many years. She is a trainer for the Godly Play Foundation in the United States, having worked in ecumenical training circles of Godly Play guides. Her ministry and hobbies synthesize her interests in sacred space, ecology, justice, de-commercialization of childhood and biblical storytelling.

Pianist Dr. Pieter Crathorne-Roberts

A native of South Africa, Pieter Crathorne began his music education at the University of Stellenbosch where he earned a Bachelors and Masters in Music, Piano Performance. Dr. Crathorne obtained his doctorate of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Crathorne presently serves as piano music instructor, and chapel music director at Trinity Episcopal School in Westlake, Texas. Previously, Dr. Crathorne served as adjunct faculty to Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, where he taught music history, music theory, group lessons, musicology, and accompanied the university choir. Since 2013, Dr. Crathorne, or just Pieter as we affectionately refer to him, has served as church pianist for Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Pieter has assisted with the Holy Cross adult and children's choir, as well as providing Holy Cross with special music performance weekly.
